What are "Sepomo micro payments"?

It is a way to pay small amounts of money for content, services, downloads and other web based activities.

How does it work ?

You send a text message (SMS) to a premium number and you are sent a code (via SMS). That code can then be used to access a particular page/ service from a web site. You are charged a fixed price for the SMS, but you are not charged any further amount, not even to receive the code.

How much does it cost ?

In the UK it costs £1.00, £1.50 or £5.00 per code, depending on the service, plus the cost of the SMS.

Do the final users need to register ?

No,it is totally anonymous. They do NOT need to invent a user name, password or give us ANY personal information whatsoever.

Is it secure ?

Totally. The payment appears on your mobile telephone bill, or is debited to your pre pay account, depending on what type of deal you have with your mobile operator. It is not possible for anyone, not even Sepomo, to charge you any more than the cost of the SMS that you have sent, so you are TOTALLY in control of the process. Because of the nature of our systems, security is paramount and they are independently assessed to ensure that information cannot leak out.

The maximum amount than can be charged per messaged is determined by the operator and can be checked in the cost column of the following list. For greater quantities, you may use several SMS (Multiple SMS Payment), considering the impact it may have in the final user.
